Bulletproof Laminated Glass (UNE – EN 1063)

The aim is to offer protection against attacks carried out with weapons with both single-mass projectiles (bullets) and those with multiple masses (buckshot), considering different weapons (pistol, revolver, rifles, shotguns) and calibers, considering that the projectile does not pass through the glazing into the protected area.
It is the user who must assess the needs of his protection, including the psychological ones, considering that the glazing must be correctly installed on an appropriate frame.
Two different classifications are made depending on whether a handgun or rifle is used on the one hand (BR) and a long gun or shotgun on the other (SG).
The classification against handguns or rifle is made in 7 categories depending on the weapon and ammunition used:
BR1
BR2
BR3
BR4
BR5
BR6
BR7
Classification of shotgun type weapons is done on two levels:
SG1
SG2
- The most common bulletproof level is BR2, as ORDER INT/317/2011 requires it for the glass parts of the cash registers of lottery administrations and betting offices, as well as for gambling casinos, banks, mobile banking modules. It is also very common for it to be used in facilities such as jewelry stores, gold buyers, gas stations.
